Ladies Ministry

 

     Our mission is to equip women with a spiritual desire to put their faith into action.  Ladies Fellowship Ministry provides support to our church family by helping meet physical and spiritual needs, and providing social activities such as: Coffee Nights, Ladies Christmas Party and other special activities.  We see outreach to the community, saved and unsaved, as a special part of our ministry.  We also want to be a home support to others whom God has called to go outside our area and spread the Word of His Son, Jesus Christ.

     Each lady is encouraged to earnestly look to god to reveal her individual spiritual gifts and then work together as one body for the betterment of all our church family.  So let us share each others burden and, as we study, pray and grow to maturity in Christ may His light shine through us.

     Ladies Fellowship Ministry is divided into circle groups to help distribute the work so no one group or person becomes too burdened down.  These circle groups are name after the following Biblical women for the reasons shown.

 

     Esther - because she risked her position and her life to save her people. (Esther)

     Hannah - because of her total commitment to, and great passion for, God. (1 Samuel)

     Priscilla - because she was a teacher of Christ and part of an outstanding support team

                    (Romans 16:3)

     Sarai - because she was a respectful, submissive, supportive wife.

                (Genesis, 1 Peter 3:6, Hebrews 11)

     Tabitha - because she was a follower of Christ who used her homemaking skills to help the

                     widowed and the poor. (Acts 9:36)

 

LADIES FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY MEETINGS

When a circle hosts the ladies monthly meeting, the members are responsible for the following:

  1. Check the kitchen for supplies.  You may use kitchen supplies or supply your own.

  2. Provide light refreshments.

  3. Set up a buffet table in the Junior Church room and decorate it.

  4. Clean up.

CIRCLE LEADERS

These leaders are responsible for informing their ladies of their part in an activity and seeing that it is being carried out as expected.  The circle leader must attend the meetings OR designate a specific member to attend the meeting in her place.  The leaders make plans for circle responsibilities.  Plan to call each woman personally as needed.  Circle leaders and their members are the mainstay of our ladies ministry.  If a circle is caught short-handed on a project; it will be the circle leaders responsibility to call on another circle to help.

 

CIRCLE MEMBERS

Each lady is asked to prayerfully commit herself to serving in the church activities as needed.  Your support and physical effort can make the difference!  Ask your circle leader what you can do to help in the ministry of the church.  You are necessary to Merson Church!!

 

 

GENERAL CLEAN-UP

  1. Clear all tables.

  2. Wash table cloths.

  3. Put away (or get men to put away) tables and chairs.

  4. Sweep floor of the room the even was held in.

  5. Restore restrooms to order- paper in trash containers, stools flushed, sinks and mirrors wiped off.

  6. If sanctuary has been used, pick up papers, tissues, etc.

 

 

COFFEE NIGHTS

When your circle is assigned a coffee night, the members are responsible for the following:

  1. Getting men to set up tables and chairs, and taking them down again.

  2. Setting up buffet tables and decorating them according to the theme.

  3. Making punch, coffee, etc.

  4. Serving the food and drinks.  (All ladies of the church supply the food)

  5. Kitchen clean up.

  6. Emptying the trash containers, taking out the trash

 and lining the trash containers with new liners.

  1. Sweeping the kitchen floor.

  2. Lastly, someone from your circle should take home

the towels and dishcloths, wash them and return them in a timely fashion.

 

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

(Such as Mother/Son, Harvest Supper, Ladies Christmas Party, etc.)

 

Set-up/Decorations

  1. Set up (or get men to set up0 tables and chairs.

  2. Check with circle in charge of kitchen to see what tables they need for food.

  3. Decorate according to the theme of the event.

  4. Remove your decorations after the program.

 

Food/Kitchen

  1. Plan menu.

  2. Make posters for food sign-up if needed.

  3. Notify other circle leaders what food you want their ladies to bring.

  4. Check the kitchen for needed supplies.  Notify Michelle Schanz of any items you need.

  5. Prepare and serve food.  If needed, arrange for men, youth, or others to serve food.

 

 

Kitchen Clean-up

  1. Take care of any left over food.

  2. Empty refrigerator of any left over food and wipe clean.

  3. Wash dishes.

  4. Wipe counters.

  5. Empty trash containers, take out trash, and line containers with new liners.

  6. Sweep kitchen floor.
